The town's festival

The Sagra dell'Ànsul is one of those festivals that don't need special effects: just being there is enough. It's the big parish festival of Cordenons, organized by the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore, which for over two weeks transforms the central Piazza della Vittoria and the areas around the church into a place for meeting, good food, and cheer.

The 'ànsul', a symbol of the territory

The name of the festival refers to the ànsul, the spontaneous sprout of an herbaceous plant typical of local tradition, a symbol of the festival's connection to the territory and its peasant roots. Around this identity, an event is built each year that unites different generations.

Food, music, and dancing

The program unfolds throughout the entire period with a packed schedule of evenings: food stalls with traditional dishes, live music with cover and tribute bands of various genres, from rock to the latest hits, and the unmissable ballroom dancing evenings, a major draw of the festival. There's also a play area for children and the traditional charity lottery, all within an organized structure with a stage, tent, and dedicated areas.

A tradition that continues

The Sagra dell'Ànsul has taken over and renewed the tradition of the historic Cordenons festival, moving its timing from September to spring. With the support of the parish community and the Municipality of Cordenons, it remains a genuine event, where the main value is togetherness.
