Three nights of world-class jazz in the iconic landmarks of Andria
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Andria Suona Jazz is a festival dedicated to jazz music that, in the heart of summer, transforms some of Andria's most beautiful locations into open-air stages. Promoted by the Municipality of Andria through the Department of Roots and supported by Puglia Culture, the event is part of the broader R*Estate ad Andria summer program, bringing high-level jazz to the city that appeals to both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Artistic directors Patty Lomuscio and Stefano Porziotta design each edition as a multi-stage journey: from the intimate atmosphere of a historic cloister to the magic of an evening concert, culminating in a grand event at the foot of Castel del Monte, the famous octagonal fortress of Frederick II and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is this unique connection between music and heritage that sets the festival apart from standard concert series.
The program unfolds across different and complementary spaces in Andria: the Cloister of San Francesco, with its intimate acoustics and charming architectural setting; La Guardiola, overlooking the landscape; and, of course, Castel del Monte, where the closing concert attracts audiences from all over Puglia and beyond. This variety of venues allows visitors to experience Andria from different perspectives, blending musical discovery with the exploration of the territory.
The programming weaves together two souls: on one hand, the promotion of Apulian musicians and new local productions; on the other, the presence of major names from the world stage. It is not uncommon for Andria Suona Jazz to bring legendary pianists and internationally acclaimed masters to Puglia, offering the public the chance to see artists live who are otherwise only found at major international festivals.
Andria, the main hub of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province, thus confirms its cultural vocation: a city that does not merely guard an extraordinary heritage like Castel del Monte, but brings it to life through music, returning it to the community as a place of encounter and emotion. Today, Andria Suona Jazz is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in northern Bari.
At the moment, the Municipality of Andria has not yet released the dates and program for the 2026 edition of Andria Suona Jazz. Based on previous editions, the festival usually takes place in July, within the R*Estate ad Andria summer program, with events spread between the Cloister of San Francesco, La Guardiola, and the closing concert in the Castel del Monte area.
This page will be updated as soon as the artistic direction and the municipal administration announce the official calendar, the artist lineup, and access procedures. For the latest information, we recommend following the official channels of the Municipality of Andria and Puglia Culture.
Andria (BT), Puglia. Events are held in various locations across the city: the Cloister of San Francesco and La Guardiola in the town center, while the main concert takes place in the area in front of Castel del Monte, approximately 18 km from the city center.
For the concert at Castel del Monte, car access to the fortress is not permitted. Visitors must park at the CAT square (formerly Parco degli Svevi) at the foot of the hill and reach the castle via the shuttle service. It is recommended to arrive well in advance of the start time.
Some events offer free admission, occasionally requiring mandatory booking due to limited seating. Access and booking procedures are communicated by the Municipality of Andria and through the festival's official channels for each event.
