Nine Centuries of History
The Ancient Festival of the Bastia is the festival that, in Isola della Scala, revolves around the Sanctuary of the Bastia, a place of Marian devotion in the heart of the Bassa Veronese. The 2026 edition has a special significance: it celebrates the 900th anniversary of the sanctuary, blending the religious dimension with the culture, music, and typical gastronomy of the area.
Four Days Between Sacred and Profane
The festival takes place between the sanctuary and the Palariso, alternating moments of reflection — the procession, Holy Mass, the presentation of the altar restoration — with popular festival events: the dinner of excellence with theatrical entertainment, the choir concert, the presentation of the book on the nine centuries of the sanctuary, the craft market, workshops for children, country dance evenings, and DJ sets.
A Celebration for the Community
Organized by the Ente Fiera of Isola della Scala, the event is aimed at families, young people, and adults, with the intention of reconnecting the community with its heritage. Among the most cherished events are the 5 km Colour Run and, on the Sunday of Women's Day, dancing with Susanna Pepe: a way to experience the traditions of Veneto in a festive and shared spirit.
