The great women's cycling of the world between Luino and Cittiglio
The Alfredo Binda Trophy is a classic of international women's cycling, included in the prestigious UCI Women's WorldTour calendar. Every year, in spring, the world's best cyclists compete between Luino and Cittiglio, in the Valli del Verbano in the province of Varese. The race is named after Alfredo Binda, a legendary champion originally from Cittiglio, five-time Italian champion and three-time world champion.
The Elite race starts from Luino and concludes in the center of Cittiglio after more than 150 kilometers, with a challenging finale made up of climbs and short, steep ascents that favor climbers and provide spectacular action until the very last meter. Alongside the main event, the Piccolo Trofeo Alfredo Binda โ Valli del Verbano, reserved for Juniors and valid for the UCI Nations' Cup, also takes place.
