The agricultural festival of Colli sul Velino, celebrating the local produce and rural traditions of the Sabina region.
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Agrifesta is a vibrant agricultural event in Colli sul Velino, a village of a few hundred inhabitants in the province of Rieti, Lazio. Born as a way to gather around the hard work of the fields and the produce of the Rieti countryside, the festival celebrates the deep bond between the village and its land, in a quiet corner of the Sabina where agriculture remains a vital part of the local identity.
The event takes place in the heart of the village, winding through the streets and squares of the historic centre, turning Colli sul Velino into a meeting point for locals and visitors from neighboring towns for a weekend. The initiative is promoted by the Pro Loco Colli sul Velino APS, the association that has spent years enlivening the village's cultural and social life with festivals, traditional celebrations, and seasonal events.
The heart of Agrifesta is the local gastronomy: stalls and stands offer typical products, rural specialties, and traditional dishes, all prepared according to home-style recipes. It is a perfect opportunity to rediscover the authentic flavors of the Sabina, a land famous for its extra virgin olive oil, legumes, cheeses, and cured meats, and to learn about the work of the small local farms that preserve these traditions.
Located among the hills overlooking the Velino river valley, Colli sul Velino is part of the mosaic of small towns that make up the Rieti Sabina, in northern Lazio. It is a territory of forests, olive groves, and ancient traditions, where village festivals still mark the rhythm of the seasons and represent a precious opportunity to keep the sense of community alive.
Alongside Agrifesta, the village calendar includes other events curated by the Pro Loco, such as the famous Palio della Padella and festivals dedicated to forest and countryside products, which attract curious visitors and folklore enthusiasts to Colli sul Velino throughout the year.
Those looking for the most authentic side of the Sabina will find Agrifesta an ideal occasion: no large crowds, just the genuineness of a village festival where the pleasure of dining is paired with the rediscovery of a territory still on a human scale. It is an invitation to leave your car at the edge of the village, stroll through the streets of Colli sul Velino, and savor the fruits of the Rieti land without haste.
Following the July 2025 event, we await confirmation for a new edition of Agrifesta in Colli sul Velino. The dates and detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been released by the organizers. Updates will be published on the social media channels of the Pro Loco Colli sul Velino APS, which manages the event in collaboration with local agricultural producers in the Rieti Sabina area.
