In the hamlet of Sabina di Atina, a small agricultural village nestled in the Comino Valley in the province of Frosinone, the Agriculture Festival—known to all as the Sheep Festival—returns every summer. It is one of the most anticipated and authentic events of the summer season in this corner of the Ciociaria region: a grassroots festival born from the farming community to celebrate land cultivation, sheep farming, and the pastoral traditions that have always defined local life.

A Deep Dive into Rural and Pastoral Ciociaria

The event is more than just a food festival; it is a true celebration of the agricultural world. The Program

The day alternates between demonstrations, gastronomic appointments, and musical entertainment. The program includes:

• Sheep cheese making demonstration, from milking to processing;
• Plowing and threshing trials, using traditional tools and techniques;
• Live music with the Mimmo Crolla Band, Giò Valeriani, and Rita Mariani;
• Final lottery draw to close the festivities.

The Sheep Festival and Flavors of the Land

The gastronomic heart of the event is sheep, the absolute star of traditional Ciociaria pastoral dishes, accompanied by typical local products and sheep cheese crafted according to ancient local techniques. The stalls allow visitors to taste peasant specialties in a simple and genuine setting, amidst the scents of the countryside and recipes passed down through generations. The farmers' market also offers the chance to purchase goods directly from the producers.
