A Community-Focused Festival
Agreenfest is the festival that, for over fifteen years, has enlivened the spring of Morosolo, a hamlet of the municipality of Casciago in the Province of Varese. Organized by the Pro Loco of Casciago, it takes place in the spaces of the oratory and in the greenery of the Parco dei Ciliegi, in Piazza Giovanni XXIII, and focuses on three keywords: nature, flavors, and community.
What to Find
The day is a succession of offerings for all ages. Along the park paths, stalls of local hobbyists and artisans are set up, while workshops engage adults and children alike: from the fun "Let's Work with Wax", where ancient working techniques are explored, to the "Rabbits on Show" exhibition dedicated to small animals. Games and educational activities are planned for children.
The AgreenRistorante
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the AgreenRistorante, open for both lunch and dinner, featuring traditional dishes alongside more elaborate specialties such as lasagna, chili con carne, black rice, and porchetta sandwiches, accompanied by local wines. A detail in the event's green spirit: participants are invited to bring reusable water bottles to refill for free.
Sport and Solidarity
During the same period, the Agreenrun takes place, a non-competitive race dedicated to sport and solidarity, with proceeds from registrations donated to the schools of Casciago and Morosolo. It's a sign of a festival that, besides providing entertainment, serves as an opportunity for concrete support to the local area. The realization of Agreenfest is made possible by the collaboration between Pro Loco, the Parish, the Municipal Administration, Civil Protection, and many volunteers.
Agreenfest — edition 2026
The 16th edition of Agreenfest took place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to midnight, at Parco dei Ciliegi in Morosolo, Piazza Giovanni XXIII in Casciago. The day, organized by Pro Loco Casciago, brought together hobbyists and artisans, workshops for all ages, an exhibition dedicated to small animals, and the AgreenRistorante with its dishes. During the same period, the tenth edition of Agreenrun, the solidarity race for the schools of Casciago and Morosolo, also took place.
Programme Agreenfest 2026
Program for Sunday, May 24, 2026 (10:00 AM – 12:00 AM):
- Local hobbyists and artisans with stalls of handmade products along Parco dei Ciliegi;
- "Rabbits on Show" — exhibition dedicated to small animals;
- "Let's Work with Wax" — educational workshop on ancient working techniques, open to all ages;
- Workshops and games for children;
- AgreenRistorante for lunch (from 12:00 PM) and dinner, with traditional dishes and specialties such as lasagna, chili con carne, black rice, and porchetta sandwiches, accompanied by local wines.
In the preceding days, an evening dedicated to foraging (identifying wild herbs) at the Morosolo oratory and the Agreenrun – Memorial Dante Parietti (10th edition), a solidarity race whose proceeds are donated to the schools of Casciago and Morosolo.
