The theatre season at the Teatro Ariston in Acqui Terme
In the heart of the Alto Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria, the spa town of Acqui Terme hosts AcquiTeatro, its highly anticipated winter theatre season. Performances take place on the historic stage of the Teatro Ariston in Piazza Matteotti, a local venue that becomes the cultural hub for theatre enthusiasts from across the region, spanning southern Piedmont and the Ligurian border.
The season is organized by the Dianorama company under the artistic direction of Clara Costanzo, with patronage and support from the Municipality of Acqui Terme. The common thread of every edition is variety: the programme alternates between brilliant and romantic comedies, family portraits, social theatre, and auteur comedy, with a special focus on the most beloved faces of the Italian stage and television.
Over the years, the Ariston stage has welcomed performers well-known to the general public, from Ale & Franz to Tiziana Foschi, and from Alessandro Bergonzoni to the siblings Marianna and Marco Morandi, alongside emerging actors and contemporary theatre companies. Each evening is designed as an accessible and popular event, blending laughter and emotion.
More than just a series of shows, AcquiTeatro is a winter ritual that enlivens the evenings in Acqui Terme. Performances, typically concentrated between January and the end of March, usually start at 9:00 PM. The fixed-seat subscription model builds a loyal audience, while individual tickets allow theatre-goers to choose their preferred shows. For the Monferrato and Acqui areas, this season represents one of the main cultural highlights of the colder months.
The AcquiTeatro 2026 season returns to the Teatro Ariston in Acqui Terme with seven shows, organized by the Dianorama company under the artistic direction of Clara Costanzo and supported by the municipality. Between laughter, emotions, familiar faces, and emerging talent, the programme encompasses romantic comedy, family portraits, and auteur humour. Advance ticket sales open on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
