A full moon night in the Acquaviva cove at Marina di Marittima
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Acquaviva Bluemoon is one of the most evocative and refined events of the Salento summer. Each year, on a full moon night, the scenic Acquaviva cove, nestled between the cliffs of Marina di Marittima (a district of the Municipality of Diso, in the province of Lecce), turns into a natural amphitheater facing the Adriatic. Here, the audience enjoys the concert while seated on the rocks and terraces, with the moon reflecting on the water providing the backdrop: an experience that blends music, landscape, and emotion like few others along the Apulian coast.
The event is conceived and promoted by the Municipality of Diso, with the patronage of the Puglia Region and the Province of Lecce. Created to showcase one of the most enchanting stretches of the lower Salento coast, the festival has grown edition after edition, bringing major names of the national music scene to Acquaviva. Artists hosted over the years include Bungaro, Antonella Ruggiero, Simona Molinari, Chiara Galiazzo, Kelly Joyce, and Dirotta su Cuba, often accompanied by jazz ensembles and projects that engage with Salento traditions.
The heart of the event is the Acquaviva Bluemoon Prize, an award presented annually during the evening to personalities who have distinguished themselves in cultural, social, and territorial promotion. The prize firmly links the concert to the deep meaning of the event: celebrating the beauty of the location and those who help preserve it and share it with the world.
The Acquaviva cove is one of the most beloved destinations on the Diso coastline, frequented during the day for its crystal-clear waters and peaceful environment. On the night of the festival, it becomes a natural stage: the location, the silence of the sea, and the moonlight create an intimate and suspended atmosphere. Admission to the event is traditionally free, subject to availability, and attracts a large audience from all over Salento every year.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Acquaviva Bluemoon have not yet been announced. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Diso (LE), usually takes place in summer, on a full moon night, in the evocative Acquaviva cove at Marina di Marittima. As soon as the municipal administration announces the official date and program, this page will be updated with the line-up, times, and practical information.
In recent editions, the festival has hosted great voices of Italian music and awarded the Acquaviva Bluemoon Prize to personalities committed to the promotion of the territory, maintaining free admission subject to availability.
Marina di Marittima is a coastal district of the Municipality of Diso, in lower Salento. By car, it can be reached from the Salento Adriatic coastal road; the nearest exits are along the SS275 towards Castro/Santa Cesarea Terme, then continuing towards the Marittima coast. The reference railway station is Lecce, from where you can continue by car or via local connections to southern Salento.
The event takes place in a natural cove with seating on rocks and terraces: comfortable shoes and a flashlight are recommended. Admission is free until capacity is reached, so it is advisable to arrive well in advance. Parking nearby is limited: it is best to arrive early. Marittima, Castro, Santa Cesarea Terme, and nearby villages offer numerous dining and accommodation options.
