Un Libro per Amore is one of the most beloved events of spring in Codogno, in the Basso Lodigiano area of the province of Lodi. Under the evocative Loggia della Mercanzia in Piazza XX Settembre, a wide selection of books is made available to the public by donation: anyone can choose a volume and contribute, with a donation, to a charitable cause.

Reading for a good cause

The heart of the initiative is its charitable purpose: the proceeds from donations are given to the Cooperativa Amicizia of Codogno, an organization active for decades in supporting people with disabilities. Buying a book thus becomes a doubly precious gesture, fueling both the pleasure of reading and support for a local social project.

A network of volunteers

The event is promoted by the associations "Amici della via Roma e Centro" and "Gruppo Volontari Amicizia", with the patronage of the Municipality. It involves citizens, shopkeepers, artisans, the civic library, and volunteer networks in a collective project that, since 1997, has grown to become a fixed event on the Codogno calendar, a symbol of a community that takes care of itself.

Culture and historic center

Hosted in one of the most beautiful places in the center, Un Libro per Amore also contributes to enhancing the historic heart of Codogno, transforming it for a few weeks into a meeting point for readers and curious visitors, between pages and solidarity.
