Four days of meetings, music, theatre, and art for peace, at the Ostellato Museum of Territory
In the Municipality of Ostellato, in the Province of Ferrara and in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, 100 Ports 100 Cities – Festival for Peace and Palestine takes place, the Ferrara stop of a campaign that crosses all of Italy. Promoted by Freedom Flotilla Italia, the national initiative involves a sailboat that sails from Taranto and docks in one hundred ports and one hundred cities, carrying testimonies, public meetings, and cultural initiatives dedicated to the Palestinian cause. In Ostellato, the festival is hosted at the Museo del Territorio (Museum of Territory), on Strada del Mezzano 14, on the edge of the suggestive Vallette.
The program is based on four pillars declared by the organizers — in-depth discussion, art, sociality, and participation — and alternates reflection meetings, live shows, concerts, DJ sets, exhibitions, nature walks, and community lunches and dinners. It is not a purely entertainment-focused lineup: the goal is to create a space for awareness and grassroots civic pressure on the issues of peace, human rights, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Among the announced events are the theatre performance PIETRE, promoted by CGIL Ferrara, the concert by the band Statale 16, the screening of the docufilm Doctors Under Attack, the performance by the Coro delle Mondine di Porporana, and a nature walk in the Vallette with the Movimento Tellurico. There is also space for the public discussion War Out of History, for meetings by Sanitari per Gaza Ferrara on the right to health, and for the workshop Aquilone Bianco, dedicated to the Palestinian writer Refaat Alareer.
The Museo del Territorio also hosts some permanent installations for the duration of the festival: the exhibition HeArt of Gaza, which collects drawings by Palestinian children, the Remember Us archive dedicated to healthcare workers, and the 'Reading Corner' curated by ANPI. The inauguration sees the participation of local institutions and territorial sections of ANPI and CGIL.
Charity auctions, solidarity lunches, and dinners animate the days, in a popular festive atmosphere that recalls the tradition of community festivals in Emilia-Romagna. Admission is free; reservations are recommended for some activities and meals. Ostellato, immersed in the Po Delta Park, offers the ideal setting to combine civil engagement, nature, and conviviality.
