The grand Christmas exhibition of nativity scenes in the Land of the Tiepolos
The 100 Nativity Scenes Exhibition in Spinea is one of the most cherished Christmas events in the Venetian territory. Organized by the Association Friends of Nativity Scenes Spinea, the exhibition showcases dozens and dozens of nativity scenes each year, set up in churches, halls, and public places in the municipality of Spinea, in the province of Venice.
The Spinea exhibition is part of the larger project 'Nativity Scenes in the Land of the Tiepolos', which unites several municipalities in the Venetian area into a single Christmas itinerary. In Spinea, the exhibition visits symbolic city locations such as the Church of Santa Maria Bertilla, the Town Hall, Villa Simion, and the Church of San Leonardo di Orgnano, guiding visitors on a journey through artisanal works, traditional nativity scenes, and more contemporary installations.
In the 2025-2026 edition, the overall exhibition brought together approximately 180 artists and over 420 nativity scenes, intertwining the '100 Nativity Scenes Spinea', 'Nativity Scenes in the Land of the Tiepolos', and 'Admirabile Signum' trails. This volume of works testifies to the vitality of an artisanal and popular tradition deeply rooted in the community.
With free admission, the exhibition is designed for both adults and children and represents an opportunity to rediscover the meaning of the nativity scene as art and storytelling, during a time of year when Spinea and the Riviera del Brenta are adorned with Christmas lights and atmospheres.
The 2026 edition of the 100 Nativity Scenes Exhibition in Spinea will follow the established format: a widespread trail of nativity scenes in city spaces, as part of the 'Nativity Scenes in the Land of the Tiepolos' exhibition. Specific dates have not yet been published.
