Three nights of music, dance, and food stalls in Piazza Caduti di Nassirya
The Youth Festival is the summer event that, every July, brings life to Piazza Caduti di Nassirya in Fiano Romano, in the province of Rome, Lazio. Born from the initiative of a group of local young people gathered in the G.M.E.B. A.P.S. Association, the event has grown to become one of the most popular moments of the municipal «Estate Fianese» calendar, promoted by the Municipality of Fiano Romano in collaboration with local associations and volunteers.
The underlying idea is simple and that is exactly why it works: to restore the square's role as a meeting place. For three consecutive evenings, the stalls open in the early evening, music accompanies the open-air dinner, and the stage lights up with performances, shows, and DJ sets that continue late into the night.
The program alternates between moments created with local groups and those more typical of a night party. The area's dance schools take the stage in the early hours of the evening with recitals and choreography prepared throughout the year, while later on, it is time for DJ sets and themed shows, ranging from 90s revival nights to entertainment formats with stage effects, lights, and animation.
As in any good local festival in Lazio, the culinary aspect is far from a mere side note. The stalls set up in the square by volunteers offer dishes from Roman and Sabina cuisine, grilled meats, fried snacks, and desserts, with popular prices designed to be accessible to everyone: this, along with the music, is the ingredient that keeps the square full from 7:30 PM until past midnight. Sustainability has also been a focus over the years, with the use of compostable tableware to reduce the environmental impact of the waste produced by the festival.
Fiano Romano is located about thirty kilometers north of Rome, where the A1 motorway meets the Tiber Valley. The village is dominated by Castello Orsini, a 15th-century fortress that hosts a large part of the summer cultural events, while nearby you can find the Lucus Feroniae archaeological site and the Villa of the Volusii Saturnini. Those arriving for the Youth Festival can therefore combine their evening in the square with a day exploring Roman archaeology, the villages of Sabina, and local wineries.
The Youth Festival is part of a calendar that, from June to September, brings concerts, theater festivals, food fairs, and the traditional Borgo Festival at the end of July to Fiano Romano. As the municipal administration recalled when presenting the 2026 edition, summer events are «an opportunity to be together, rediscover the value of sharing, and fully experience our territory»: the youth festival is perhaps its most direct example.
The dates are official and confirmed by the Municipality of Fiano Romano: the Youth Festival returns to Piazza Caduti di Nassirya from Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19, 2026, starting at 7:30 PM each evening. The organization is once again handled by the G.M.E.B. A.P.S. Association, which over the years has built the festival's now-recognizable formula: food stalls run by volunteers, a stage in the square, performances by local dance schools, and DJ sets until late at night.
The event is one of the most anticipated of «Estate Fianese 2026», the calendar that brings dozens of events to the town from June to September, including concerts, theater at Castello Orsini, food festivals, and the Borgo Festival at the end of July. As in previous editions, access to the square is free.
Piazza Caduti di Nassirya, 00065 Fiano Romano (RM), Lazio. The square is located in the modern part of the town, just a few minutes' walk from the historic center and Castello Orsini.
By car: take the «Fiano Romano» exit on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, then follow signs for the center; about 40 minutes from Rome. By train: Fara Sabina-Montelibretti station on the FL1 line, then take the Cotral bus to Fiano Romano. By bus: daily Cotral connections from Rome Ponte Mammolo and the Sabina area.
Stalls open and music starts around 7:30 PM, with the program continuing until late at night. Admission to the event is free: you only pay for what you consume at the food stalls.
Parking near the square fills up quickly: it is best to arrive early or leave your car in the parking areas along the access roads to the center. The evenings are outdoors, but it can get chilly in the small hours: it is better to bring something warm.
