About Young Summer Art Fest

In Meda, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, one July evening the city centre transforms into a large open-air gallery: it's the Young Summer Art Fest, the festival dedicated to young artists from the area. Between Piazza Cavour, Via Solferino, and Piazza Municipio, young people aged 14 to 30 showcase their talent in music, dance, painting, photography, writing, and crafts. Promoted by the Municipality of Meda together with Meda Giovani, it's a showcase for the creativity of the new generations.

Young arts take centre stage

The Young Summer Art Fest (YSAF) is the festival that the Municipality of Meda, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, dedicates to young people's creativity. For one evening, the city centre transforms into a large open-air art gallery, spread across Piazza Cavour, Via Solferino, and Piazza Municipio. The initiative is promoted by the Department of Culture and the Department of Youth Policies together with Meda Giovani and MEDAestate.

A stage for 14-30 year olds

The festival is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 30 who want to get involved and show their artistic talent. The forms of art welcomed are many: music, dance, painting, photography, writing, crafts, and creative performances. A plurality of languages that gives voice to the inclinations and passions of Meda's new generations.

The city as an exhibition space

The choice to distribute performances and exhibitions in the squares and streets of the centre makes YSAF a widespread and participatory event, capable of involving not only artists but also passers-by and citizens. The festival thus becomes an opportunity for intergenerational encounter and a way to liven up Meda's summer with the freshness of emerging talents.

A project for young people

The Young Summer Art Fest is part of a broader project to enhance youth policies in Meda, of which Meda Giovani is the driving force. By offering young people a real space to express themselves, the festival confirms the attention of the Brianza area towards the creativity and protagonism of new generations.
