Meda's centre becomes an open-air gallery for young arts
The Young Summer Art Fest (YSAF) is the festival that the Municipality of Meda, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, dedicates to young people's creativity. For one evening, the city centre transforms into a large open-air art gallery, spread across Piazza Cavour, Via Solferino, and Piazza Municipio. The initiative is promoted by the Department of Culture and Youth Policies together with Meda Giovani and MEDAestate.
The festival is open to young people aged 14 to 30 who want to challenge themselves and show their artistic talent. The art forms welcomed are many: music, dance, painting, photography, writing, crafts, and creative performances. A plurality of languages that gives voice to the inclinations and passions of Meda's new generations.
The choice to distribute performances and exhibitions in the squares and streets of the centre makes YSAF a widespread and participatory event, capable of involving not only artists but also passers-by and citizens. The festival thus becomes an opportunity for intergenerational encounters and a way to liven up Meda's summer with the freshness of emerging talents.
The Young Summer Art Fest is part of a broader project to enhance youth policies in Meda, of which Meda Giovani is the driving force. By offering young people a real space to express themselves, the festival confirms the attention of the Brianza region towards the creativity and protagonism of new generations.
