About Royal Summer Stage

In the Royal Gardens designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, the Monza Palace becomes a stage for sunset concerts. Royal Summer Stage brings jazz, fado, Brazilian music, and great symphonic works to the green heart of the Royal Villa, in a dialogue between nature, architecture, and music inspired by open-air festivals in New York and Vienna. A summer and autumn series that combines refined listening and a relaxed atmosphere, just a short walk from the center of Monza.

The Monza Palace becomes a stage

Promoted by Musicamorfosi together with the Villa Reale and Monza Park Consortium, the Royal Summer Stage transforms the Royal Gardens of the Monza Palace into a natural theatre for live music. The setting is the English garden designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, in the heart of the city of Monza (Province of Monza and Brianza), one of the most important monumental complexes in Lombardy.

A festival inspired by New York and Vienna

The idea is based on the model of major open-air music events, from New York's Summerstage to concerts in the gardens of Schönbrunn in Vienna: quality music in an extraordinary landscape setting, to be enjoyed at sunset. The program is deliberately cross-genre, encompassing jazz, Portuguese fado, Brazilian samba, film music, and the great symphonic and baroque repertoire.

Between the Royal Gardens and the Court Theatre

The series is divided into two parts: a summer segment in July and an autumn follow-up in September, with concerts also held in the elegant Court Theatre of the Royal Villa. A recurring protagonist is the Orchestra Canova, a youth ensemble that accompanies great international soloists. The affordable pricing makes the festival accessible to families and young people, confirming the event's popular yet sophisticated appeal.

Royal Summer Stage — edition 2026

The second edition of Royal Summer Stage brings a program ranging from fado to jazz, from Brazilian samba to the great symphonic repertoire to the Royal Gardens of the Monza Palace. After the four evenings in July, the series continues in September with the Orchestra Canova between the Royal Gardens and the Court Theatre.

The second edition of Royal Summer Stage takes place in two periods: from July 9 to 12, 2026, in the Royal Gardens, and then on September 20, 26, and 27, 2026, with classical repertoire. Featuring major international artists and the Orchestra Canova, in a dialogue between music, nature, and architecture in the heart of the Monza Palace.
