Four days in the Sabina woods: yoga, sound, dance, self-production, and ethical crafts
Wild Fest is a festival dedicated to wellness, nature, and craftsmanship, held in the municipality of Montenero Sabino, in the province of Rieti, Lazio. The venue is the Agriturismo e Camping Bio Pianeta Verde in the Sant'Elia area, a property immersed in the woods of the Upper Sabina, just over an hour from Rome. Here, for four days, time seems to slow down: no massive stages or strict schedules, just a gentle flow of practices, meetings, and free time.
The event is organized by A Wild World, a project by Federica Portentoso dedicated to experiences of connection with nature and oneself. The formula is well-established: two core activities per day shared by all participants, followed by a range of optional experiences that can be chosen freely, allowing everyone to build their own path within the festival.
The core of the experience focuses on the body and breath. The ticket includes two yoga sessions per day—one in the morning and one in the evening—to open and close the day by listening to your body, as well as a gong bath, a deep sound immersion designed for relaxation and rebalancing. Surrounding these activities are more specific options that can be booked separately:
The complete list of activities is shared with participants well in advance, allowing them to book the practices that resonate most; the cost of individual optional sessions generally ranges between 15 and 25 euros.
One of the most characteristic spaces at Wild Fest is the market area, set up among the trees in the heart of the festival and open during the final days of the event. Here, you will find sustainable Italian brands, artists, and artisans selected for their alignment with the event's values: ethical craftsmanship, natural materials, and self-production. It is also the place where the festival opens up to those not participating in the full residential experience, thanks to the "One Day at Wild Fest" pass.
The catering is entirely vegetarian and vegan, with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners prepared daily by the chef at Pianeta Verde using mostly organic, zero-mile ingredients, many of which come from the property's own garden. The cuisine is Mediterranean, rustic, and creative. The ticket includes a pitch for a tent—or a van upon request—while those preferring more comfort can opt for bungalows with shared double rooms.
The Sabina area of Rieti is one of the greenest regions in Lazio: hills covered in ancient olive groves, oak forests, and perched medieval villages. Montenero Sabino, with its castle and fewer than three hundred inhabitants, belongs to this rural landscape that has remained on the fringes of mass tourism circuits. It is a setting that perfectly explains the nature of the festival: a small-scale, limited-capacity event built on slowness and connection rather than high attendance. For those arriving from Rome, it takes just over sixty kilometers to completely change your pace.
The 2026 edition opened on Thursday, June 25, with check-in from 2:00 PM and the first activities starting at 4:00 PM, concluding on Sunday, June 28, in the early afternoon. The venue was once again the Agriturismo e Camping Bio Pianeta Verde in the Sant'Elia area, in the municipality of Montenero Sabino.
The event structure maintained the proven formula: two shared core activities each day and a wide choice of optional experiences, bookable in advance, to build a personal path without rigid schedules. The ticket included two daily yoga sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening, led by Marco Migliavacca, and a gong bath conducted by Claudio, a sound immersion dedicated to deep relaxation.
Around these practices, proposals from selected holistic professionals alternated: sound baths, astrological readings, body reading, Zen Thai Shiatsu, and hand-poked tattoos, with individual session costs ranging between 15 and 25 euros. From Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, the market area among the trees was active, featuring sustainable Italian brands, artists, and artisans, also open to those who chose the "One Day at Wild Fest" daily pass.
The catering, entirely plant-based and largely organic and zero-mile, accompanied every day with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners prepared on-site.
The detailed program of optional activities was communicated to participants starting in February, with the possibility of booking individual sessions in advance.
By car: From the Rome-Florence motorway, take the Fiano Romano exit, then the Salaria road towards Rieti; at km 62 of the Salaria, turn left for Montenero-Casaprota and follow the signs for Pianeta Verde.
By bus: Services from Rome Tiburtina towards Rieti (approx. 3.50 euros), get off at the Ornaro Alto stop; the journey takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The ticket includes a pitch for a tent (or van upon request) and plant-based meals prepared on-site. A limited number of bungalows with shared double rooms are available. Those who do not own a tent can rent one before departure.
Spaces are limited and tickets sell out through successive price tiers: it is advisable to book well in advance. Bring trekking shoes, comfortable clothing for practices, a headlamp, and a water bottle. Optional activities must be booked before arrival.
