Edition 2025 — WeCheese Ragusa

In 2025, prior to the City of Cheese 2026 title, Ragusa experienced an intense season of dairy celebrations, culminating at the end of September with the grand finale of the Iblean Cheese Festival at the Mediterranean Agri-Food Fair. Tastings, coordinated by ONAF and ONAV delegates, highlighted Ragusano DOP and traditional local cheeses, laying the groundwork for the creation of WeCheese.

Throughout 2025, the Ragusa territory consolidated its dairy identity with a series of initiatives dedicated to Ragusano DOP and the cheeses of the Iblean Mountains. The grand finale of the Iblean Cheese Festival was held at the end of September, coinciding with the Mediterranean Agri-Food Fair of Ragusa, featuring guided tastings and wine-cheese pairings curated by ONAF and ONAV experts.

Alongside Ragusano DOP, traditional cheeses such as Cosacavaddu Ibleo and Provola Ragusana were featured. This season of promotion represented the fertile ground from which the WeCheese event was born in 2026.
