The Walk of Life returns to Rome

The Walk of Life is a charity run and walk established in 2012 and organized by Fondazione Telethon to support scientific research into rare genetic diseases. After energizing the streets of Naples, Turin, Milan, and Catania, the initiative arrives in the Capital: on Sunday, September 27, 2026, a large crowd of runners and charity walkers will gather at the Parco degli Acquedotti, in the south-east quadrant of Rome, between Appio Claudio and Cinecittà.

A route through ancient aqueducts

The event's setting is among the most scenic in Rome: the Parco degli Acquedotti, part of the vast Appian Way Regional Park, preserves the monumental remains of six Roman aqueducts, with the arches of the Aqua Claudia and Anio Novus crossing meadows and rows of pine trees. Running or walking in this landscape means immersing yourself in two thousand years of history just a stone's throw from the city center.

Two ways to participate

• 9.9 km competitive and non-competitive race, starting at 9:00 AM, for those who want to challenge themselves or simply run for a good cause;
• 3 km walk open to everyone, starting at 11:30 AM, designed for families, children, and anyone who wants to support research by walking together.

Every registration turns into a concrete contribution for the researchers who work every day to provide answers to people living with a rare genetic disease. Over the past decade, the Walk of Life has raised hundreds of thousands of euros for Telethon research.

The Telethon Village

The beating heart of the event is the Telethon Village, set up in the park starting Saturday, September 26: a space for celebration and gathering with activities, entertainment, information points, and awareness-raising moments, where sport and solidarity merge into a single day dedicated to hope.
