The Mediterranean coastal wine festival at the Port of Acciaroli
Vinammare – Horizons of Wine and Sea was born in 2026 at the Port of Acciaroli, in the municipality of Pollica (Salerno province, Campania), with a simple yet ambitious idea: to showcase wines that grow just meters from the salt water. It is the first edition of an event that brings together wineries and stories from the Italian coasts and those of France, Spain, Greece, and Portugal, creating a dialogue between diverse territories united by the same sea.
The common thread is not a specific designation or type, but a landscape: vines overlooking the sea, the salty wind, and the poor, luminous soils that give coastal wines a recognizable tension and salinity. Alongside Cilento producers, tasting stands featured labels from Sicily, Tuscany, and the Marche, as well as international guests that broaden the horizon to the entire Mediterranean basin.
The choice of location is an integral part of the experience. The festival takes place behind the Tower of Acciaroli, along the docks of the tourist port: the tasting route winds between the piers, with the breakwater on one side and the village on the other. Evenings begin at 6:30 PM, the hour when the light fades over the gulf and a glass of wine becomes the most natural way to accompany the sunset.
Acciaroli is the most famous seaside hamlet of Pollica, a village overlooking the Cilento coast, celebrated for its award-winning waters and the longevity of its inhabitants. Here, in the 1950s, American scientist Ancel Keys conducted the research that led to the definition of the Mediterranean Diet, now an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, of which Pollica is an emblematic community. Vinammare fits consistently into this framework: not just a simple wine event, but a narrative of food culture, biodiversity, and the relationship between man and landscape.
The cultural heart of the program is entrusted to three free meetings, all at 7:30 PM on the breakwater pier, one for each evening:
In addition to the masterclasses, the three evenings offer a free-roaming tasting route among the winery stands, show cooking, and gastronomic offerings that highlight local products, meetings on Mediterranean food culture, and a soundtrack provided by DJ sets and artistic performances that accompany the public from sunset until night. The atmosphere is that of the informal and convivial seaside villages at the start of the season, far from the formality of trade fairs.
Access to the festival area is free. Those who wish to participate in the tastings can purchase the kit with a glass and glass-holder, which grants access to the stands: 20 euros in online presale (plus a 5 euro refundable deposit) or 25 euros on-site (plus deposit). Masterclasses are also free to attend, subject to availability.
Vinammare is a young event, but with a clear identity: a few days, a beautiful location, and a precise theme—coastal wines. For those visiting Cilento in June, it represents an opportunity to discover a still-underrated designation like Cilento DOC, to compare it with other Mediterranean coasts, and to do so with your feet almost in the water, in one of the most photographed ports in Campania.
From June 19 to 21, 2026, the Port of Acciaroli, in the municipality of Pollica (Salerno, Campania), hosted the first edition of Vinammare – Horizons of Wine and Sea, an event dedicated to wines born on the Mediterranean coasts. Each evening, starting at 6:30 PM, the area behind the Tower of Acciaroli transformed into a tasting route among the piers, with wineries from Cilento and other Italian coasts—Sicily, Tuscany, Marche—alongside producers from France, Spain, Greece, and Portugal.
The cultural program featured three free masterclasses, all at 7:30 PM on the breakwater pier: Compositions on June 19, dedicated to the art of blending with Alfredo Capasso of Enoteca Frangino and cheese pairings; Latitudes on June 20, with Mayor Stefano Pisani and a sommelier, on the wine identity of Pollica, from the Serre di Molino a Vento project to the Underwater aging experience; Origin on June 21, with Giuseppe Pagano of the San Salvatore winery, on Cilento, biodiversity, and Mediterranean agriculture.
Alongside the tastings, there were show cooking sessions, meetings on food culture and local production, DJ sets, and artistic performances. Admission to the area was free; the optional tasting kit cost 20 euros online (plus a 5 euro refundable deposit) and 25 euros on-site. The event was promoted by the Municipality of Pollica, an emblematic community of the Mediterranean Diet.

June in Acciaroli is already high season: book your accommodation in the village or nearby hamlets (Pioppi, Casal Velino, Marina di Ascea) well in advance. Comfortable shoes for the docks and a light sweater for the evening breeze are always a good idea.
