About Villa Lazzaroni Summer Fest

Villa Lazzaroni Summer Fest is a free music and cultural festival that brings the expansive Villa Lazzaroni park in Rome's Appio Latino district to life for ten days. Organized by the Promu association in collaboration with the Rome VII Municipality, it gathers concerts, orchestras, jam sessions, workshops, and talks within an open-air eco-cultural village. Featuring jazz, singer-songwriter performances, and world music, the festival showcases both young talent and established national artists.

The Villa Lazzaroni Summer Fest

The Villa Lazzaroni Summer Fest is a music and cultural event that transforms the sprawling Villa Lazzaroni park in Rome's Appio Latino district into a vibrant open-air eco-cultural village every late spring. For about ten days, from the afternoon until late at night, the historic villa in the VII Municipality fills with concerts, orchestras, jam sessions, workshops, and meetings, all with free admission.

An eco-cultural village in Appio Latino

Promoted by the Promu association with the support of the Rome VII Municipality, the festival was created to return a redeveloped green space to the citizens, turning it into a hub for creativity, live performance, and cultural dialogue. Every day, starting in the late afternoon, the park hosts a square for talks on social rights, educational workshops, open labs, and musical entertainment, while the dining area welcomes the public until the evening. It is an event designed for the Appio Latino neighborhood and the entire city of Rome, in the heart of the Lazio region.

The musical program

The heart of the festival is music, with a lineup that alternates between emerging artists and big names on the national scene. Alongside the concerts, there are prestigious orchestral ensembles and evening jam sessions curated by students from the Saint Louis College of Music, in a journey that ranges from jazz and singer-songwriter music to world music.

  • Live concerts by emerging and established artists
  • Guest orchestras such as the Blind Inclusive Orchestra, the Siena Jazz Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of Rome
  • Evening jam sessions with young musicians from the Saint Louis College of Music
  • Workshops, talks, and meetings on cultural and social themes
  • Food and dining area open daily

Music, inclusion, and social commitment

Beyond the entertainment, the Villa Lazzaroni Summer Fest carries a strong social vocation: from the Blind Inclusive Orchestra, an ensemble that promotes inclusion, to debates on rights and current events, and spaces dedicated to young talent under 35. A multidisciplinary festival that combines artistic quality with community focus.

A free event in Rome's green heart

With its free admission and relaxed atmosphere, the festival has become a beloved appointment for neighborhood residents and Romans looking for quality open-air music evenings. Villa Lazzaroni, easily accessible along the Via Appia Nuova, offers the ideal setting to experience the start of the Roman summer amidst notes, words, and conviviality.
