The design festival spread across galleries, museums, and workshops in Venice
Venice Design Week is the festival that brings contemporary design into the urban fabric of Venice, with a distributed venues format: private galleries, museums, artist studios, artisan workshops, and shops become exhibition and meeting spaces for ten days. The event invites visitors to experience the city as a large laboratory of creativity and innovation.
Through exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and guided tours, the festival fosters dialogue between designers, companies, universities, and research centers from around the world. The public can discover new ideas and engage with the most advanced design practices, following thematic paths dedicated to crafts, including the VDW Jewelry Selection, an exhibition of designer jewelry.
Each year, Venice Design Week proposes a guiding theme that directs the curation and presentation of projects, inviting the public to view design as a complete production cycle, made of components, choices, and responsibilities.
As part of the rich cultural calendar of Venice and the Veneto region, the Design Week highlights the link between the city and crafts โ from Murano glass to goldsmithing โ projecting it into international design research.
Venice Design Week 2026 takes place from October 9th to 18th with the theme "100", which uses percentages as a tool to interpret the project as a complete production cycle, emphasizing responsibility, precision, and slowness. Each work is presented with images, texts, and a percentage map that visualizes the forces at play.
The program includes exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and guided tours hosted in private galleries, museums, artist studios, workshops, and shops, with the participation of international designers, companies, universities, and research centers. Among the thematic paths, the VDW Jewelry Selection reaches its 12th edition.
The complete public program will be available from September 2026 on the website venicedesignweek.com.
Venice is reachable by train to Santa Lucia station, then on foot or by ACTV water bus. The festival venues are spread throughout the historic city.
The complete public program, venue map, and schedules are published on the official website venicedesignweek.com. Many events are free to enter.
