An evening concert in the square of Pecorara, on the Piacenza Apennines
Every summer, the Val Tidone Festival transforms the small villages of Valtidone into open-air stages, and Pecorara is one of the most evocative stops. A hamlet of the Municipality of Alta Val Tidone, in the province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna), Pecorara hosts an evening concert in Piazza XXV Aprile that attracts music lovers from all over the valley and the provincial capital.
Promoted by the Val Tidone Musica Foundation and supported by the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, the festival is a historic event that each year touches the municipalities of Valtidone โ including Alta Val Tidone, Pianello, Borgonovo, Castel San Giovanni, Sarmato, Gragnano, Piozzano, Ziano, and Calendasco โ as well as the city of Piacenza. The artistic direction is entrusted to Livio Bollani.
The festival's program blends great singer-songwriter music, excellent jazz, and emerging young talents, often from the prestigious Val Tidone International Competitions. The traveling format allows visitors to discover live music and the villages, castles, and squares of the Piacenza valley at the same time, in an intimate setting far from large arenas.
The Pecorara stop is part of a journey that, every summer, brings artists capable of thrilling audiences of all ages to the valley, in a mountain village just a few kilometers from the border with the Oltrepรฒ Pavese.
The 28th edition of the Val Tidone Festival (June 7 - October 16, 2026, 17 concerts) stops in Pecorara, a hamlet of Alta Val Tidone, on Friday, July 31, 2026. In Piazza XXV Aprile, at 9:15 PM, "Pensieri e Parole", a refined tribute to Lucio Battisti, takes place.
On stage, an exceptional ensemble: Peppe Servillo on vocals, Javier Girotto on sax, Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet, Rita Marcotulli on piano, Furio Di Castri on double bass, and Mattia Barbieri on drums. A project that blends Italian singer-songwriter music and jazz language, reinterpreting Battisti's masterpieces in a new way.
The event is organized by the Val Tidone Musica Foundation with artistic direction by Livio Bollani.
