An evening of jazz, blues, and vocals in the Ziano stop of the Val Tidone Festival
The Val Tidone Festival is the historic international music review promoted by the Fondazione Val Tidone Musica which, every summer, transforms the villages, castles, and squares of Val Tidone and Val Luretta into open-air stages. The festival is spread throughout the territory and involves the Municipalities of the valley along with the provincial capital, Piacenza: among the locations touched by the review is also Ziano Piacentino, a small wine-producing Municipality in the Piacenza area known for its hills and for the production of Gutturnio and Malvasia wines.
For the 2026 edition, the Ziano concert is held in Montalbo area, one of the hamlets of the Municipality, in an intimate setting surrounded by the hilly countryside. The format is typical of the festival: quality music in a local setting, with free admission subject to availability and no booking required. It is an evening designed to combine the discovery of the valley's landscape with the pleasure of live listening.
The Val Tidone Festival is part of the broader project of the Val Tidone International Music Events, which also includes the renowned International Music Competitions. Every year, the summer review features numerous events, alternating major names in Italian music with young talents and jazz ensembles, in a program that ranges from classical repertoire to singer-songwriter music, from jazz to pop. The Ziano Piacentino stop, in Emilia-Romagna, is part of this mosaic of concerts that accompany the valley's summer from June to October.
The festival's strength lies in its deep connection with its locations: each concert is also an invitation to discover a village, a castle, or a corner of the Piacenza countryside. In Ziano, a land of wine and vineyards, music thus becomes an opportunity to experience a different summer evening, focused on artistic quality and the hospitality of the territory.
The 28th edition of the Val Tidone Festival runs from June 7 to October 16, 2026, with seventeen summer concerts and an autumn event at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza. The artistic direction is entrusted to Livio Bollani, and the review involves all the Municipalities of Val Tidone and Val Luretta, along with the city of Piacenza.
In Ziano Piacentino, in the Montalbo area, the festival stops on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 9:15 PM with a concert dedicated to jazz and its vocal contaminations. As with almost all the events in the review, admission is free subject to availability.
The pianist from Abruzzo, Michele Di Toro, with his trio and the voice of Julia St. Louis, offers a refined journey through jazz, blues, and vocal contaminations, built on an elegant and nuanced musical dialogue.
The concert is part of the widespread program of the Val Tidone Festival 2026, which between June and August also touches Pianello Val Tidone, Piacenza, Calendasco, Sarmato, Agazzano, San Nicolรฒ, Trevozzo, Piozzano, Castel San Giovanni, Castello di Rivalta, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Gragnano Trebbiense, and Pecorara, with a grand finale on October 16 at the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza.
Montalbo area, Ziano Piacentino (PC), Emilia-Romagna. Ziano can be reached by car from the Via Emilia and from the Castel San Giovanni motorway exit (A21), continuing along the hilly roads of Val Tidone.
Free admission subject to availability, no booking required. In case of bad weather, the date may be postponed: it is advisable to check for updates on the official website.
The concert starts at 9:15 PM.
