For five days, the Urban Lake Street Food Festival transforms the Schiranna lakefront in Varese into a large street food village overlooking the lake. The event, held in Piazzale Roma, combines gastronomy, music, and a natural setting that sets it apart from many other urban street food festivals.
Cuisines from around the world
The gastronomic offer is extensive and international: Chianina beef burgers, American barbecue, Mexican and Calabrian specialties, paella, Abruzzese arrosticini, Puglian meatballs, pulled pork, Japanese gyoza, fried fish and octopus sandwiches, Sicilian desserts, churros, and cannoli. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, as well as a beer and cocktail bar.
Music and DJ sets
Each evening features DJ sets and live concerts, with a music program running throughout the five days of the festival, until late at night. The atmosphere is that of a long early summer holiday, with food, music, and lakeside strolls.
La Schiranna and Varese
Schiranna is the lakeside area of the Municipality of Varese, the provincial capital, a popular destination for walks and outdoor activities. Admission to the festival is free, making it an event suitable for families and those looking for an informal evening by the lake.
Urban Lake Street Food — edition 2026
The 2026 edition offers five days of street food in Piazzale Roma, on the Schiranna lakefront. The program features cuisines from around the world, from Chianina burgers to American barbecue, Japanese gyoza, and Sicilian desserts, accompanied by a beer and cocktail bar and a packed music schedule with DJ sets and live artists. Admission is free.

- May 30 - Chicca Leaf, Marco Dassi, and Andrea Crestani.
- May 31 - Morning Club (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM) with Giuseppe Schembri; in the evening, Fabrizio Alborghetti and Simon Dot.
- June 1 - Andrea Ciapparella, Bozz, and Torq.
- June 2 - Grand finale with Fabrizio Alborghetti.
