The historic festival of Cinisello Balsamo
The Uffizi Festival of Cinisell is one of the oldest and most characteristic festivals of Cinisello Balsamo (Metropolitan City of Milan). It is traditionally celebrated on the second Sunday of Lent and is dedicated to the memory, roots, and cultural traditions of the city, in a blend of the sacred and the secular typical of Lombard festivals.
Between stalls, funfair, and vintage cars
The heart of the festival is the large market that invades the city center: over a hundred stalls selling food, non-food products, and crafts. Added to this is the funfair in Via Copernico, with rides operating for two weeks, and the evocative vintage car and motorcycle exhibition — Vespas, Lambrettas, Ciao Piaggios, Fiat 500s — which parade through the city streets on Sunday. There is also a dog training demonstration.
Culture and memory
The festival also offers a guided tour to discover historic sites, starting from Palazzo Confalonieri and visiting Pertini, the Church of Sant'Ambrogio, and Villa Ghirlanda Silva. The event concludes with a Solemn Mass concelebrated for the deceased in the parish church of Sant'Ambrogio. Organized by the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo, the Uffizi Festival is an event that combines popular celebration, tradition, and rediscovery of the city's roots.
Uffizi Festival — edition 2026
The Uffizi Festival 2026 enlivens Cinisello Balsamo from Saturday, February 28 to Monday, March 2. On Saturday, February 28, at 10:00 AM, a guided tour departs from Palazzo Confalonieri with the mayor; the funfair in Via Copernico will be open from February 28 to March 15. On Sunday, March 1, there will be over 100 food, non-food, and craft stalls, a vintage car and motorcycle exhibition with a parade at 11:00 AM, and a dog training demonstration at 3:30 PM. On Monday, March 2, at 6:30 PM, a Solemn Mass will be held in Sant'Ambrogio Church.
