About Uello Trophy

The Uello Trophy is the 'Serenissima veleggiata' that unites sport and solidarity in the sea between Chioggia and Venice. Organized by the Il Portodimare sailing club in memory of Fabio 'Uello' Cavallini, a passionate sailor who passed away in 2018 due to glioblastoma, the regatta donates its proceeds to the Giovanni Celeghin Foundation for brain tumor research. A sailing event where competition blends with a worthy cause, along the historic routes of the lagoon.

A regatta that is an act of love

The Uello Trophy – Serenissima veleggiata is a regatta conceived by the sailing club Il Portodimare of Chioggia together with the Fondazione Giovanni Celeghin ONLUS of Padua, in collaboration with Vento di Venezia. It was created to remember Fabio 'Uello' Cavallini, a passionate sailor who passed away in 2018 at the age of 44 due to glioblastoma.

Sport and research

The event inextricably links sailing competition with a solidarity cause: the proceeds from the regatta and the evening lottery are donated to the Giovanni Celeghin Foundation, committed to supporting research so that brain tumors are less feared.

Along the lagoon routes

The traditional course starts from Ca' Roman, passes through the Malamocco port entrance, and concludes in Venice, where the boats dock and the convivial and charitable event takes place. An event that intertwines sea, memory, and solidarity in the heart of the Venetian lagoon.
