Running in the heart of Venafro
The Trofeo San Nicandro — Città di Venafro is the running race that annually brings athletes and enthusiasts to run in the historic center of Venafro, in the province of Isernia. Organized by ASD Atletica Venafro, the race is dedicated to San Nicandro, the city's patron saint, and is one of the most cherished events in Molise's running calendar.
A technical and evocative circuit
The distance is 10 km, on a 3.333 km city circuit to be repeated three times, with sections on basalt and turns that cross the historic center: a technical and spectacular route, challenging but highly appreciated. The event's headquarters are in Corso Campano.
A popular sports festival
In addition to the competitive race, the Trofeo includes a non-competitive run open to schools, awards for the best athletes and the largest clubs, and the traditional final pasta party with awards. The race is part of the Corrimolise Intersport circuit, of which it is one of the stages, confirming Venafro's role in the regional running scene.

The XXIV edition of the Trofeo San Nicandro — Città di Venafro is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2026, organized by ASD Atletica Venafro. The 10 km race is run on a technical 3.333 km city circuit to be repeated three times in the historic center of Venafro, with basalt sections and turns. It is the sixth stage of the Corrimolise Intersport circuit. The headquarters are in Corso Campano; the presentation takes place at the Palazzina Liberty.

- 4:30 PM — Registration opening and bib collection in Corso Campano
- 5:30 PM — Non-competitive run for schools (A. Giordano), one lap of the circuit
- 6:30 PM — 10 km competitive race (3 laps of 3.333 km)
- Following — Pasta party and awards ceremony
Prizes for the first 5 overall and the first 3 Italians per gender, category prizes, prizes for the most numerous clubs (20+ registered participants), and special awards for athletes from Campania and Venafro. Race pack with a gift and technical garment.
