The great autumn sailing on Lake Garda

On October 24 and 25, 2026, Desenzano del Garda, in the province of Brescia, will host the 58th edition of the Trofeo Alta Velocità, combined with the 24th Trofeo Agello. The regatta is organized by Fraglia Vela Desenzano, one of the most important sailing clubs on Lake Garda, and represents one of the most keenly awaited events in the Garda calendar.

The competing classes

The Trofeo Alta Velocità is open to various categories of boats: ORC, Monotipi, and Diporto. This variety makes the regatta a rich and well-attended event, capable of bringing expert crews and enthusiasts onto the water with different types of boats, in a challenge that highlights technique and the ability to harness the lake's winds.

A historic tradition

The name of the event recalls a dual heritage: high speed on the lake and the figure of Francesco Agello, the speed record-holding aviator linked to Garda's history. The long series of editions — the 58th for the Alta Velocità — testifies to the event's deep roots in the sporting culture of Desenzano del Garda and the entire southern lake area.

Closing the season

Held at the end of October, the regatta traditionally marks the conclusion of the competitive sailing season on Lake Garda. The two days also offer spectacle for the public on shore, who can follow the boats' starts and finishes from Desenzano's harbor and promenade, in a charming autumn setting.
