The world's most famous vintage car race stops in Sirmione
The 1000 Miglia, defined as the most famous and important regularity race for vintage cars, makes a stop in Sirmione, in the province of Brescia, on the southern shore of Lake Garda. On June 9, 2026, the historic vehicles will cross the Sirmione peninsula, offering a spectacle that combines passion for vintage engines with the beauty of one of Italy's most beloved villages.
The most evocative moment of the stage is the passage in front of the Rocca Scaligera, the medieval castle that dominates the entrance to the historic center of Sirmione. It is precisely in front of the castle that the stamp control and the U-turn of the cars take place, in a scenic setting that provides the perfect backdrop for the prestigious automotive event. It is no coincidence that Sirmione was chosen for its beauty, capable of maximizing the charm of the race.
The day begins in the afternoon with the Ferrari Tribute parade, around 2:30 PM, followed by the passage of the historic cars starting around 4:15 PM until the evening hours. The vehicles arrive from Desenzano del Garda via Brescia, cross the lakefront squares, and depart towards Peschiera del Garda, in a succession of four-wheeled jewels that make automotive history.
The 1000 Miglia was born in 1927 and represents one of the most iconic automotive competitions in the world. The modern re-enactment follows the spirit of the original race, bringing hundreds of crews through Italy. The Sirmione stage confirms the event's connection with Lake Garda and with the historical and landscape heritage of Lombardy.
