About Trinità Days

Every summer, the village of Camerata Nuova, nestled in the Simbruini Mountains Regional Natural Park, transforms into the heart of the Italian-style Wild West. Trinità Days is a festival dedicated to the spaghetti western genre: three days of film screenings, special guests from the industry, equestrian shows, country music, cowboy games, and historical re-enactments. It is a heartfelt tribute to "They Call Me Trinity" and the Camposecco plateau, an iconic filming location for the Italian western in the province of Rome.

A dive into the Wild West, in the Simbruini Mountains

Trinità Days is the spaghetti western festival that brings Camerata Nuova to life every summer. This small village in the province of Rome is tucked away in the Simbruini Mountains Regional Natural Park, on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo. For three days, the streets of the historic center transform into a genuine western village, complete with saloons, costumed extras, stuntmen, and a frontier atmosphere that transports enthusiasts of all ages back in time.

Why here?

The choice of Camerata Nuova is no coincidence: the nearby Camposecco plateau, at an altitude of about 1,350 meters, was one of the most iconic sets for Italian western cinema. Several scenes from famous films of the genre were shot on these high-altitude pastures, and the memory of those productions is the guiding theme of the event today. The festival was born as a tribute to "They Call Me Trinity," the saga starring Terence Hill and Bud Spencer that defined an era of Italian western comedy.

What happens during the festival

The program weaves together cinema, live performance, and local tradition. Recurring highlights of the various editions include:

  • screenings and tributes to great western cinema, with the participation of industry guests;
  • theatrical performances and costumed re-enactments along the village streets;
  • a western arena with cowboy games, a mechanical bull, and family activities;
  • equestrian exhibitions, pony rides for children, and educational workshops;
  • live music, country dancing, and themed food stands.

An event for the whole community

Organized by the Pro Loco of Camerata Nuova with the support of the Municipality, the festival has grown with each edition, hosting composers, actors, and figures linked to the golden age of the spaghetti western. The formula, which combines the promotion of local cinematic heritage with a village festival open to all, has made Trinità Days one of the most distinctive summer events in the Simbruini Mountains and the entire Aniene Valley area in Lazio.

A village to discover

Beyond the shows, the event is the perfect opportunity to explore Camerata Nuova and its surroundings: mountain trails, ancient beech forests, and vistas that stretch all the way to the Camposecco plateau, a favorite destination for hikers and cinephiles in search of the legendary locations of the Italian western.

Trinità Days — edition 2026

Following three consecutive editions, Trinità Days is expected to return in summer 2026 to Camerata Nuova, in the Simbruini Mountains. The spaghetti western festival is set to renew its traditional early August appointment, though dates and the program for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially confirmed by the organizers.

The 2026 edition of Trinità Days has not yet been officially announced with final dates and a program. Building on the success of previous years, the Pro Loco of Camerata Nuova has hinted at the return of the event, which is traditionally held during the first weekend of August. As in past editions, a rich calendar is expected, featuring western screenings, costumed performances, a cowboy arena, equestrian shows, country music, and food stands along the village streets.
