The parade of allegorical floats in the metaphysical city of the Ferrara region
The Tresigallo Carnival is one of the most beloved events in the calendar of Tresignana, in the province of Ferrara, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The event takes on a unique charm here: the float parade winds through the rationalist architecture of Tresigallo, the famous metaphysical city commissioned in the 1930s by Edmondo Rossoni and now part of the Emilia-Romagna Cities of Art circuit. Confetti, masks, and colourful floats crossing orderly, geometric squares create a unique contrast, capable of surprising both residents and visitors.
The heart of the day is the parade that starts from Piazza Italia and crosses the town's streets in a riot of music, colours, and energy. Eight allegorical floats and two masked groups, the result of the work of local carnival groups, parade through the town. The celebration continues in Piazza della Repubblica, which becomes the meeting point for families and children.
In addition to the parade, the afternoon offers numerous attractions:
Admission is completely free: the Tresigallo Carnival is designed as a town festival open to everyone, where the popular traditions of the Ferrara Carnival meet the hospitality of a community that loves to gather in its squares. The event is promoted by the Union of Municipalities Terre e Fiumi, of which the Municipality of Tresignana is a part, and is an excellent opportunity to discover a truly unique destination in Italy.
