About Transappenninica 50cc

A non-competitive motorcycle touring adventure that starts from Gropparello, in the province of Piacenza, and crosses about 300 km of the Apennines in a single day to the Ligurian coast. Reserved for road-legal 50cc scooters and mopeds, the Transappenninica Endurance is a test of self-sufficiency and endurance through Val Trebbia, Val d'Aveto, Borgo Val di Taro, and Castell'Arquato, with geolocated checkpoints and a final barbecue upon arrival. A tough and fascinating experience for small-engine enthusiasts.

A Challenge on the Apennines in 50cc

The Transappenninica Endurance 50cc is one of the most original events on the Italian motorcycle touring calendar: a crossing of about 300 km in a single day, to be covered on a small 50cc moped. The event starts and ends in Località La Valle di Gropparello, in the Municipality of Gropparello, in the province of Piacenza, in the heart of the Emilian Apennines. Organized by the Synergy ASD association, it is a non-competitive event, framed within the discipline of motorcycle touring, with a recreational, sporting, historical, and cultural character.

The Route through Emilia, the Apennines, and Liguria

The route is a demanding journey that goes from Emilia-Romagna to the Ligurian coast, and then returns by crossing the inner Apennines. Along the approximately 300 km, you will cross the Val Trebbia, the Val d'Aveto, and the Ligurian coast, with the return route touching Borgo Val di Taro in the province of Parma, the Mignano basin, and the medieval village of Castell'Arquato. You will face steep inclines and significant temperature variations, from a few degrees in the morning at altitude to the heat of the coast.

Vehicles Allowed and Spirit of the Event

50cc scooters and mopeds, 2 or 4 wheels, 2 or 4 strokes, provided they are road-legal and comply with traffic regulations, can participate. An additional category called "Assaggiatori" (Tasters) is available for larger engine sizes. The watchword is self-sufficiency: no assistance or recovery service is provided along the route. Each participant must manage on their own, following about 15 mandatory checkpoints with GPS coordinates and geolocation via WhatsApp.

An Event for Enthusiasts

More than a race, the Transappenninica is a test of endurance and a celebration for lovers of small engine sizes, combining the sporting challenge, the discovery of the Apennine territory, and moments of conviviality. The number of participants is limited to about a hundred registered individuals, confirming the intimate and selective nature of the initiative, capable of attracting enthusiasts from all over Italy to this corner of the province of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna.
