The mountain race through the woods and ancient hamlets of Lozzo di Cadore
The Trail de le Longane is the mountain running event of Lozzo di Cadore, a small municipality in the province of Belluno nestled among the Dolomites. The race takes its name from the Peron de le Longane, a large rock linked to the legends of the Anguane, the forest creatures of Cadore tradition.
The competitive course measures 15 km with 1,100 meters of positive elevation gain and winds entirely along technical trails through the woods, with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It crosses places of great historical and naturalistic value: the Roggia dei Mulini, Borgata Prou, Riva de le Vace, Lagune, Somacros, and the Peron de le Longane. For those seeking a more accessible experience, there is also a 9 km non-competitive route with 500 meters of elevation gain, ideal for families and beginners.
The event is organized by the Gruppo Fatti di Lozzo and the Unione Sportiva Aquilotti, with the support of the alpine rescue and local associations. The start and finish are in Piazza IV Novembre, which also hosts the bib collection, lunch, and awards ceremony, in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community of Lozzo.
