The theatre review of San Clemente by Città Teatro
The Giustiniano Villa Municipal Theatre is located in the hamlet of Sant'Andrea in Casale, in the Municipality of San Clemente, in the Province of Rimini (Emilia-Romagna). Inaugurated in 2002 and named after the San Clemente dialect poet Giustiniano Villa, it is an intimate and modern venue with about 120 movable seats, designed to accommodate performances, concerts, and workshops. For over a decade, the programming has been managed by the Città Teatro association, which has made it a cultural hub for the entire Rimini hinterland.
The 2025-2026 season is titled La Stagione Ingombrante (The Bulky Season) and runs from November to May in a club format: the theatre opens at 8:00 PM, and the audience can enjoy an aperitif before the show, accompanied by a surprise pre-show by Città Teatro. The first part, in autumn, featured the comedy of Annagaia Marchioro, the Lady Comedy Show by Luisella Tamietto, an encounter with Valerio Aprea, and a performance by Claudio Morici produced by Teatro Metastasio di Prato.
The heart of the second part is the review "A teatro con mamma e papà" (Theatre with Mom and Dad), with Sunday afternoon events designed for children, alongside "Con la classe a teatro" (With the Class at the Theatre), matinees dedicated to local schools. Titles in the lineup include Le due foreste, Decamerone, Sulle tracce della volpe, Minipin, and Seggioline, performances ranging from storytelling to actor-based theatre.
Closing the review, between late April and mid-May, is La Stagione dei Saggi (The Showcase Season): a series of showcase performances featuring over 70 students from the theatre workshops for children, teenagers, and adults conducted by Città Teatro throughout the year. It is the moment when the theatre gives back to the community the work of an entire season of training.
With its programming attentive to both contemporary theatre and family audiences, the Villa Theatre represents a rare example of cultural vibrancy in a small inland municipality. The collaboration between the Municipality of San Clemente and Città Teatro makes it a season capable of weaving together authorial drama, comedy, children's theatre, and education, enhancing the hills between the Valconca and the Romagna Riviera.
The 2025-2026 season of the Villa Theatre in San Clemente intertwined several reviews. The evening segment featured Annagaia Marchioro (November 22, 2025), Luisella Tamietto's Lady Comedy Show (December 6), an encounter with Valerio Aprea (December 13), and Claudio Morici's La malattia dell'ostrica, a production by Teatro Metastasio di Prato (December 20).
The Sunday review "A teatro con mamma e papà" presented Le due foreste (February 22, 2026), Decamerone (March 8), and Sulle tracce della volpe (March 22), alongside school matinees of "Con la classe a teatro". Concluding the season, from April 21 to May 14, 2026, was La Stagione dei Saggi with over 70 students from Città Teatro's theatre workshops.
