The first edition: Nocera Superiore relives its roots

The inaugural edition of The Flavors of Ancient Nuceria was held in September 2025 at the Alfonso and Matteo Fresa Urban Park, starting in the late afternoon. The format, curated by the Gruppo Archeologico Nuceria with the patronage of the Municipality of Nocera Superiore, brought together historical re-enactments, guided tours of the ancient baths, stage performances, live cooking shows, and tastings of Roman-era products.

In the kitchen, chefs Antonio De Angelis and Antonio Papale proposed dishes inspired by the gastronomy of ancient Rome, while master cheesemaker Manuel Lombardi guided the public through a sensory journey featuring Conciato Romano and the legendary Falernum wine. There was also space for craftsmanship, with works by Pietro Avallone.

The evening attracted hundreds of visitors and confirmed the organizers' intuition: it was much more than a simple event, but a bridge between the past and the present capable of bringing together citizens, associations, and enthusiasts around a shared story of the city's origins. The success of this first trial paved the way for the second edition, scheduled for September 23, 2026.
