Wine Enters the Fortress of Arzignano

There is a place in Arzignano, in the province of Vicenza, where wine and history meet: the Rocca di Castello, an ancient Scaliger fortress that overlooks the hilly village. Every spring, Il Castello DiVino comes to life here, the festival of cellars organized by the Comitato Sagra di Castello, a format that invites the public to taste local wines and more within the medieval fortress.

How the Tasting Works

The formula is simple and tested: with the entrance fee, you receive a glass, a glass holder pouch, and a series of tokens with which to taste the offerings from the participating cellars. Among the wineries that have enlivened recent editions are local realities such as Vitevis, Cantina Le Pignole, Vitivinicola Ermilani, Cantina Vivallis, Tenuta Grimani, and Maltraversi, alongside numerous other labels.

Wine, Food, and Medieval Atmosphere

Accompanying the glasses is a food area offering dishes designed to enhance the pairings. But the real added value is the setting: tasting a good glass inside the Fortress, among walls and views that tell centuries of history, makes Il Castello DiVino a unique event in the food and wine scene of the West Vicenza area and the Municipality of Arzignano.
