The international classical music festival at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona
Il Settembre dell'Accademia is the international classical music festival promoted by the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona, one of Italy's oldest musical institutions. It takes place at the Teatro Filarmonico, in the heart of Verona, and for over thirty years has brought great symphony orchestras and the most celebrated performers on the world stage to the city.
Formations such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia have performed on the stage of the Teatro Filarmonico, conducted by legendary maestros and accompanied by internationally renowned soloists.
In over three decades of activity, the festival has hosted more than one hundred and thirty orchestras, ensembles, and choirs, one hundred and thirty-five conductors, and one hundred and eighty-eight soloists, presenting over three hundred and fifty compositions by more than one hundred composers. A cultural heritage that makes the Settembre dell'Accademia a benchmark for symphony music enthusiasts.
In a city famous for its Arena and opera season, Il Settembre dell'Accademia confirms Verona's musical vocation, in Veneto, offering the public the opportunity to hear the world's greatest orchestras in a historic theatre.
The 35th edition of Il Settembre dell'Accademia takes place at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona from September 8 to 30, 2026, featuring the great romantic symphonism, from Beethoven's early works to Mahler and Rachmaninov. The festival opens with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden conducted by Daniele Gatti, performing over two evenings. The grand finale on September 30 features the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
The complete schedule, with other international guest orchestras, is published by the Accademia Filarmonica.
