The Taistner Dorffest is the village festival of Tesido/Taisten, one of the two hamlets that make up the municipality of Monguelfo-Tesido/Welsberg-Taisten, in the province of Bolzano, Trentino-South Tyrol. Nestled on a sunny plateau at the entrance to the Casies Valley at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, Tesido preserves the genuine atmosphere of Puster Valley mountain villages: this is the very spirit the festival showcases, summarized in the edition's motto: «Traditional, musical, original, and authentic».
Three days of celebration throughout the village
For an entire weekend, the center of Tesido transforms into a large open-air party space. Local associations and village groups handle entertainment, gastronomy, and attractions, offering visitors an authentic immersion into South Tyrolean community life. The soundtrack ranges from traditional folk music (Volksmusik) with bands and folk groups to modern DJ rhythms in the evenings, ensuring there is something for every generation.
The market, gastronomy, and the grand parade
Key highlights include the farmers' and craft market (Bauern- und Handwerkermarkt), featuring typical valley products and the work of local artisans. There is no shortage of regional South Tyrolean culinary specialties and a program dedicated to children. The climax of the event is the grand parade on Sunday morning, when costumed groups, floats, and associations march through the village, showcasing its variety and traditions.
How to experience the Taistner Dorffest
The festival is organized by the Naturverein Tesido with the support of village associations and is an excellent opportunity to discover Tesido and the nearby Casies Valley, amidst hiking, Dolomite panoramas, and South Tyrolean culture. Admission to the festival is free, and the event takes place in the village center, easily accessible from Monguelfo and other towns in the Puster Valley.

The 2026 edition of the Taistner Dorffest is the 19th and takes place in the center of Tesido/Taisten, in the municipality of Monguelfo-Tesido (South Tyrol), under the motto «Traditional, musical, original, and authentic». Village associations bring the entire weekend to life with regional gastronomy, entertainment, and attractions for all ages.
The program alternates between traditional folk music and DJ evenings, a farmers' and craft market, and activities dedicated to children, culminating on Sunday with the parade that travels through the village.

Friday, July 17
- 5:00 PM — Grand opening of the festival in the center of Tesido, with music, South Tyrolean gastronomy, and entertainment by local associations.
Saturday, July 18
- From 3:00 PM — Farmers' and craft market (Bauern- und Handwerkermarkt) with typical Puster Valley products and artisanal crafts.
- In the evening — Live music and DJs, culinary specialties, and a children's program.
Sunday, July 19
- 11:00 AM — Grand parade (Umzug) through the village streets, with groups, floats, and associations on the theme «Traditional, musical, original, and authentic».
- Following — Continuation of the festival with folk music and specialties until the evening.

Location
The festival takes place in the center of Tesido/Taisten, a hamlet of the municipality of Monguelfo-Tesido (ZIP 39035), in the province of Bolzano, South Tyrol.
How to get there
Tesido can be reached in a few minutes from Monguelfo along the Puster Valley state road (SS49). The nearest train station is Monguelfo, on the Fortezza-San Candido line; from the station, the hamlet is served by local buses. By car, take the exit for Monguelfo-Val Casies and drive up towards Tesido.
