The Delta Carnival
The Taglio di Po Carnival is the carnival event of Taglio di Po, a municipality in the province of Rovigo in the Po Delta. Although it takes place in late spring, it is a keenly felt event that transforms the historic center into a stage of colors, masks, and joy.
The float parade
The heart of the festival is the parade of allegorical floats, which starts in the early afternoon and winds through the town's streets. The floats, authentic papier-mâché works animated by costumed participants, come from different provinces: in addition to Rovigo, groups from Padua, Venice, Treviso, Ferrara, and Ravenna participate, confirming the event's supra-regional appeal. Each year the parade follows a theme, capable of giving unity and fantasy to the creations.
A community celebration
With over five thousand participants, the Taglio di Po Carnival is one of the most attended festivals in the local calendar. It is organized by the Pro Loco Taglio di Po together with the Foglie Vive association, and represents a great moment of popular celebration and involvement for the entire lower Polesine territory.
Taglio di Po Carnival — edition 2026
The Taglio di Po Carnival 2026 was held on April 12 in Taglio di Po, with an edition dedicated to the theme of "the world of fairy tales". The parade of allegorical floats crossed the historic center starting at 2:30 PM, transforming the town into a grand colorful celebration.
Floats from multiple provinces participated — Padua, Venice, Treviso, Ferrara, and Ravenna — for an event that attracted over five thousand people. The organization was handled by Pro Loco Taglio di Po together with the Foglie Vive association.
