Two days of illustration, live art, and workshops at the Museo Orsi in Tortona
The T.ink Festival is the premier event dedicated to illustration and drawing that brings Tortona, a city in the province of Alessandria, to life every spring in the heart of Piedmont. Created to promote the world of ink through experimentation and fun, it has become a highly anticipated date for enthusiasts, families, and curious visitors eager to get a behind-the-scenes look at the illustrator's craft.
The festival takes place within the Museo delle macchine agricole Orsi (Orsi Agricultural Machinery Museum) at Via Emilia 446—a fascinating and unconventional setting where vintage machinery provides a unique backdrop for contemporary art. The contrast between the region's industrial heritage and the vibrancy of modern illustration is one of the festival's most iconic features.
The heart of the T.ink Festival is the presence of over 90 artists, both established and emerging, who share their diverse styles, techniques, and creative visions with the public. Visitors can observe live art and live painting sessions, watch drawings take shape in real-time, and chat directly with the illustrators. The museum also hosts a bustling market where you can purchase original illustrations, signed prints, gadgets, and self-published works, directly supporting the creators.
The program features free interactive workshops for adults and children, covering topics such as surrealist illustration, character creation, character design, and handmade crafts. Alongside the workshops, there are thematic exhibitions and the traditional live creation of a large-scale mural in front of the museum—a tribute to street art and writer culture. It is an event designed to engage everyone, from the youngest visitors to contemporary art aficionados.
Organized by the ACMEventi Association, the T.ink Festival has quickly become a reference point for the illustration scene in Piedmont and beyond, attracting artists from all over Italy while highlighting the city's cultural and museum heritage.
