A widespread festival on the lake

The Sustainability Festival on Lake Garda is a travelling event that, during the spring, crosses the entire lake territory - Lombardy, Veneto, and Trentino - with a widespread program of events dedicated to the environment, culture, and heritage. Among the network municipalities is Lonato del Garda, in the province of Brescia, which participates with an event of strong historical and spiritual significance.

The Lonato stage: Maguzzano

The Lonato event in 2026 is scheduled for May 16th, from 5 PM to 7 PM, and offers a guided tour of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Abbey of Maguzzano, one of the most fascinating places in the area. The tour concludes with a special performance by the Federation of Bell Ringers, who will make the ancient art of bell ringing resonate within the abbey. An original way to link the theme of sustainability with the enhancement of the religious and cultural heritage of Lake Garda.

Sustainability as culture

The festival interprets sustainability in a broad sense: not only the environment in a strict sense, but also the care and rediscovery of places, traditions, and memory. The Maguzzano stage is an example of this, combining the landscape dimension of Lake Garda with the historical-artistic dimension of the abbey, in a journey that invites us to look at the territory with new eyes.
