A Festival That Tells the Story of Curetta

The Strozzapreti Festival is one of the most cherished events in the hamlet of Curetta, a small community in the Municipality of Servigliano, in the province of Fermo, in the heart of the Marche region. It is organized by the Associazione Rione Paese Vecchio, which has been enlivening the local community for years, transforming the hamlet into a great meeting point for a few days with communal tables, food stalls, and outdoor performances.

The Strozzaprete Takes Center Stage

The dish that gives the festival its name is strozzaprete, a pasta strictly handmade according to the Marche peasant tradition. Here it is served in two classic and beloved versions: alla matriciana, with its robust sauce, and alla norcina, creamy and flavorful. Alongside the pasta, the festival menu offers grilled pork with side dishes, crostini, mixed fried items, and to finish, homemade sorbet in mistrà and lemon flavors, a truly delicious signature of Curetta.

Entertainment and Remembrance

The festival is not just about good food: each edition alternates evenings of entertainment with moments of strong community value. It ranges from the comedy of Marche popular theater to dance performances, culminating on Sunday with a day dedicated to remembrance, featuring the commemoration "Amicizie Indelebili" (Indelible Friendships), an open-air mass, and a performance by flag wavers and musicians from the Rione. It is this blend of celebration and roots that makes the event eagerly anticipated not only by the people of Servigliano but by the entire Fermo area.
