The season of prose, music, and song-theater by ATER Foundation at the Bomporto Municipal Cinema Theater
The Stagione Teatrale del Cinema Teatro Comunale di Bomporto is the cultural event that every year, from late October until spring, enlivens the small Municipality of Bomporto, in the province of Modena, in the heart of the Bassa Modenese region of Emilia-Romagna. The festival is curated by ATER Fondazione, one of the most important public theater organizations in the region, in collaboration with the municipal administration: a guarantee of high-level programming, which brings nationally recognized shows and performers to a local theater.
The program alternates great authorial prose, monologues, live music, and song-theater, with a particular focus on Italian singer-songwriters and their protagonists. In recent years, the lineup has included tributes to music icons such as Giorgio Gaber, Fabrizio De André, Rino Gaetano, and Domenico Modugno, alongside reinterpretations of classics and new contemporary dramas. The stage has hosted performers beloved by the Italian public, from Lella Costa to Gioele Dix, from Mario Perrotta to Beatrice Schiros.
The shows typically take place in the evening, starting at 9 PM, in the hall at Via Giuseppe Verdi 8/A. The intimate size of the Bomporto Municipal Cinema Theater creates a direct and personal relationship between artists and spectators, far from the coldness of large city theaters. The season is not just an entertainment offering; it is a cultural hub for Bomporto and the surrounding towns of the Bassa, a place where the community gathers around theater.
Alongside the evening programming, there is the Sciroppo di Teatro® festival, a regional project promoted by ATER Fondazione dedicated to theater for families, intended as a tool for cultural welfare: shows for children and parents become a sort of cultural "prescription," with a symbolic health booklet that rewards families' participation in live performances.
One of the distinctive features of the Bomporto festival is its affordable pricing policy: tickets for individual shows remain reasonably priced, and season passes for the entire season are available at rates designed to encourage local audience participation. Advance ticket sales are available online via VivaTicket and directly at the theater on show nights.
The 2025/2026 Season at the Bomporto Municipal Cinema Theater, curated by ATER Foundation and the Municipality, runs from October 31, 2025, to March 27, 2026, with seven evening shows at 9 PM. The lineup blends great prose, monologues, and song-theater, with tributes to Giorgio Gaber, Fabrizio De André, Rino Gaetano, and Domenico Modugno. Four events fall in 2026, from January to March, accompanied by the family festival Sciroppo di Teatro®.
