Edition 2025 — St. Joseph's Bonfires

On March 19th, 2025, Bovino celebrated its St. Joseph's bonfires with the usual competition between the village districts, organized by the Pro Loco Bovino UNPLI and the Confraternity of the SS. Annunziata. After the blessing of the first fire and the torchlight procession, the lighting of the pyres in the various neighborhoods began at 7:00 PM, accompanied by folk songs, entertainment, and the flavors of Bovino's cuisine cooked over the embers.

St. Joseph's Bonfires 2025

The 2025 edition of the St. Joseph's bonfires took place in Bovino on Wednesday, March 19th, with the program and regulations published by the Pro Loco Bovino UNPLI. From 7:00 PM, after the blessing of the first fire and the torchlight procession that carried the inaugural flame, the large stacks of wood and brushwood set up in the different districts of the village were lit.

As per tradition, the neighborhoods competed for the most evocative bonfire, evaluated by a special jury and rewarded with local products. Around the fires, there was no shortage of folk songs, dancing, and Bovino gastronomic specialties, from pork soffritto to zeppole, lampascioni, and potatoes roasted under the ashes, in an evening of celebration that involved the entire community in the Daunian Mountains.
