St. John's Festival in Trenno

Trenno celebrates its saint

The St. John's Festival is the patronal feast of the Trenno district, in the far west of Milan (Municipality 7, Province of Milan, Lombardy). Organized by the Parish of San Giovanni Battista in Trenno, it celebrates the patron saint around June 24th, the date of his nativity: for this reason, the preceding days are the most suitable for celebrating, with two weekends of events in Piazza San Giovanni.

The District Tournaments

The core identity of the festival lies in the Tornei dei Rioni (District Tournaments), which divide the district into teams and compete in numerous disciplines: football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, foosball, e-sports, pickleball, and dodgeball. It is a tradition that fuels friendly rivalry between the different areas of Trenno and involves residents of all ages, from children to adults. The tournaments are preceded by the Cena dei Rioni (District Dinner), scheduled for Sunday, June 7th.

Gastronomy and shows

Alongside sports, the festival offers food stalls with evening dining with a varied menu—from paella with sangria to porchetta sandwiches—and a rich program of concerts, shows, and entertainment, such as "Trenno's Got Talent". A mix that makes St. John's a must-attend event capable of bringing the entire district together.

A consolidated tradition

After the success of the 30th edition, the festival reaches its 31st edition in 2026, confirming itself as one of the most cherished community events in the western area of Milan. It is a celebration that intertwines religious, sporting, and convivial dimensions, a living expression of Trenno's neighborhood spirit.
