In the heart of the Tuscia Viterbese, the village of Castel Sant'Elia dedicates a day each year to the value of sport with its Sports Festival. Promoted by the Municipality of Castel Sant'Elia, the event transforms the village's sports facilities into a large space for play, meeting, and sharing, open to children, teenagers, adults, and families alike.
A village united by sport
Castel Sant'Elia, a small town in the province of Viterbo, in the Lazio region, is primarily known for the evocative Sanctuary of Maria Santissima ad Rupes and the Basilica of Sant'Elia, nestled in a landscape of gorges and tuff cliffs. Alongside this historical and natural heritage, the community cultivates a strong social vocation: the Sports Festival was born precisely to bring the village together for a day in the open air, where friendly competition becomes an opportunity for celebration and intergenerational connection.
The day's activities
From the early hours of the morning, the village's sports areas come alive with tournaments and trials open to everyone. The traditional program includes:

How to get there
Castel Sant'Elia is located in the province of Viterbo, in northern Lazio. By car, it can be reached via the Via Cassia or the Orte-Viterbo expressway, taking the exit towards Nepi and Civita Castellana; the village is just a few kilometers from both towns. The nearest train station is Civita Castellana, on the Rome-Viterbo line.
