About Sport Festival

In Tresignana, in the province of Ferrara, the Sport Festival doubles: in 2026 the second edition takes place over two weekends in June at the "Franco Mazzanti" Sports Centre in Formignana. Six evenings dedicated to grassroots sports, entertainment, and local volunteering, with boxing, padel, Kings League, mountain bike races, live music, and DJ sets, accompanied by a rich gastronomic stand. A popular event created to promote the town's sports and social associations in a spirit of celebration and legality.

The Tresignana Sport Festival

The Sport Festival is a popular event held in Formignana, a hamlet of the Municipality of Tresignana, in the province of Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna). Born in 2025, after the success of the first edition, the festival doubles: in 2026 the program will extend over two weekends in June, for a total of six evenings dedicated to sport, entertainment, and volunteering.

The heart of the event is the "Franco Mazzanti" Sports Centre in Formignana, managed by local sports organisations, which for the occasion becomes the meeting point for the entire community. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Tresignana together with the main sports and social promotion associations of the area, including ASD Formignana 2024, FARO, and Pro Loco Formignana.

Sport for All

The programme alternates various disciplines, designed for both enthusiasts and families:

  • Amateur Boxing: high-level matches, including a women's bout, in an evening entirely dedicated to boxing.
  • Padel Tournament: organised in collaboration with the sports group of the Ferrara Police Headquarters, in memory of Falcone and Borsellino, to promote a message of legality.
  • Kings League: the new football format with unique rules that is captivating younger audiences.
  • Mountain Biking: MTB races and demonstrations.

Music, Gastronomy, and Volunteering

The evenings are not just about sport. The festival is enlivened by musical performances with local musicians and DJs, while the gastronomic stand offers dishes and specialities for all participants. The event maintains a strong solidarity focus: the involvement of local volunteers is one of the distinctive features of the Sport Festival, which combines fun, social interaction, and civic engagement.

A Local Event

The Sport Festival represents an identity-building moment for Formignana and the entire Municipality of Tresignana: a showcase for sports and volunteer associations, capable of attracting crowds from all over the Bassa ferrarese region. In an area of Emilia-Romagna far from major tourist routes, events like this strengthen the sense of community and offer visitors a genuine opportunity to discover local life.

Sport Festival — edition 2026

The second edition of the Sport Festival doubles compared to its 2025 debut: in 2026, it takes place over two weekends in June, from Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th, and from Friday, June 12th to Sunday, June 14th, at the "Franco Mazzanti" Sports Centre in Formignana, in the Municipality of Tresignana (FE). Six evenings of sport, entertainment, and volunteering.

The 2026 edition of the Tresignana Sport Festival is spread over six evenings, divided into two weekends: June 5-6-7 and June 12-13-14, at the "Franco Mazzanti" Sports Centre in Formignana.

The sports programme includes an evening of amateur boxing with high-level matches, including a women's bout; a padel tournament in memory of Falcone and Borsellino, organised with the sports group of the Ferrara Police Headquarters; the Kings League, the new football format with unique rules; and mountain bike races. The evenings are enlivened by local musicians and DJs, while the gastronomic stand remains open for the entire duration of the festival. Free admission.
