The Volunteer Firefighters' festival in the urban park of Spera
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Spera Festival is one of the most cherished village feasts in the lower Valsugana valley. It is organized every year by the Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Spera, a hamlet within the municipality of Castel Ivano, in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). It is an event that combines the solidarity of volunteer firefighters with the conviviality of a community that still loves to gather around a table and enjoy music together.
The festival is hosted in the urban park of Spera, on Via Santa Apollonia, a well-equipped green space that the village uses for outdoor events. The park features a playground for children, a tennis court, a synthetic five-a-side football pitch, and a permanent structure with kitchens and facilities specifically designed to host events, parties, and festivals. It is the ideal place for a day outdoors, suitable for families, children, adults, and seniors.
The program of the Spera Festival is built around a few simple, time-tested ingredients: cuisine prepared by the volunteers, live music, and entertainment for children. Past editions have featured activities for the little ones, such as a baby disco, and evenings accompanied by accordion music and hot dishes prepared on-site. It is a true village-scale festival, where the proceeds support the activities of the volunteer firefighters, a precious safeguard for the local area.
Spera is a small hamlet of Castel Ivano, a municipality created in 2016 from the merger of several villages in the lower Valsugana. The village is nestled on a morainic terrace and preserves a fascinating heritage, such as the 14th-century church of Santa Apollonia with its medieval frescoes. The Spera Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover this authentic corner of eastern Trentino, far from the main tourist flows, and to experience the warm hospitality of the mountain people.
At the moment, the dates for the 2026 edition of the Spera Festival have not yet been announced. The event, organized by the Volunteer Firefighters Corps of Spera in the urban park of the Castel Ivano hamlet, usually returns in September with food, music, and entertainment for families and children.
The detailed program will be published on the Castel Ivano municipal website, in the Events section, as soon as it becomes available. We invite you to check the official channels to find out the date and program of the next edition.
