About Sotto il Vulcano Fest

Sotto il Vulcano Fest is the major concert series that transforms the historic Villa Bellini in Catania into an open-air arena at the foot of Mount Etna every summer. Organized by Puntoeacapo as part of the Catania Summer Fest promoted by the Municipality, the event brings together the most beloved stars of Italian and international music from July to September, spanning pop, rap, indie, rock, and singer-songwriter genres. A season of live performances in the city's green heart, with a lineup that crosses generations and musical styles.

Sotto il Vulcano Fest: Catania's live summer

Sotto il Vulcano Fest is one of the most anticipated music festivals of the Sicilian summer. Every year, from July to September, the festival brings the Villa Bellini in Catania to lifeโ€”the famous "Giardini Bellini" in the heart of the Etnean capitalโ€”transforming its open-air arena into a stage for the biggest names on the national and international scene. The event is organized by Puntoeacapo, under the artistic direction of Nuccio La Ferlita, and is part of the Catania Summer Fest program promoted by the Municipality of Catania.

A lineup spanning pop, rap, indie, and singer-songwriter

The festival's strength lies in its variety: the calendar ranges from pop to rap, indie to rock, and singer-songwriter music, featuring artists capable of speaking to different audiences and generations. Over the years, the stage at the Giardini Bellini has hosted Italian music greats, stars of the rap-urban scene, and international guests, in evenings that draw thousands of spectators from all over Eastern Sicily.

Villa Bellini, an arena in the city's greenery

The setting is one of Catania's iconic landmarks: Villa Bellini, the historic 19th-century public garden overlooking the city center. Its concert arena offers a unique, open-air atmosphere immersed in greenery, just a short walk from the main streets and the train station. This is where the festival concentrates the bulk of its program, with some evenings having been hosted in other historic center venues over the years.

An event for all of Sicily

For the Province of Catania and all of Sicily, Sotto il Vulcano Fest has become a benchmark for live summer entertainment: a long and rich calendar that accompanies the hottest months and, edition after edition, confirms Catania as one of the main stops on Italian summer tours.
