A week of salsa, bachata, and kizomba on the beach in Alì Terme
The Sicilia Salsa Sensual Festival is one of the longest-running Latin dance events in Southern Italy. Every year, in the heart of summer, the small town of Alì Terme, located on the Ionian Riviera in the Province of Messina, welcomes hundreds of dancers from all over Italy and many foreign countries. The setting is the Lido Terra Matta, a beach club overlooking the sea, where the dance floor merges with the sand and the nights continue under the Sicilian stars.
The festival revolves around three major dance styles: salsa (in its Cuban and New York on2 variations), bachata (sensual and Dominican), and kizomba. The program alternates between various activities throughout the day and night:
Organized by Alvares Production, the Sicilia Salsa Sensual Festival has grown into a staple of the Italian Latin dance calendar. The formula that combines a beach holiday with dance in a spa town like Alì Terme is what makes it unique: it is not just an urban congress, but a week of total immersion where dance, sun, and socializing blend together. The twelfth edition, scheduled for 2026, confirms the international appeal of the event, bringing some of the most renowned names on the global salsa, bachata, and kizomba scene to Sicily.
Alì Terme is a seaside and spa town on the Ionian side of the Province of Messina, in Sicily, easily accessible along the coast between Messina and Taormina. Its location, just a few kilometers from one of the island's most famous tourist destinations, makes the festival a great opportunity to explore the area, enjoying the sea, thermal baths, and Sicilian gastronomy.
The 12th edition of the Sicilia Salsa Sensual Festival is scheduled from July 6th to 13th, 2026, at the Lido Terra Matta in Alì Terme. The formula remains the same: a full week of Latin dance by the sea, with daytime workshops for all levels, evening shows, and nightly social dancing until the early hours.
The festival offers seven nights of dance parties, lessons with international masters of salsa, bachata, and kizomba, and moments of relaxation between the beach and the pool. An event that combines a beach holiday with a passion for dance in the heart of the Ionian Riviera of Messina.
The festival is spread over seven days with daytime workshops, evening shows, and social dancing until the early hours of the morning. Dance nights generally begin around 10:00 PM.
Workshops in salsa (Cuban and on2), bachata, and kizomba, divided by level from beginner to advanced.
Alì Terme is located on the Ionian coast of the Province of Messina. By car, it can be reached via the A18 Messina-Catania motorway, taking the Roccalumera/Alì Terme exit. By train, the Alì Terme station is served by the Messina-Syracuse line. The nearest airports are Catania-Fontanarossa (about an hour away) and Reggio Calabria.
All activities take place at the Lido Terra Matta, on the seafront of Alì Terme, directly on the beach.
Access is by pass only. Tickets can be purchased online via the official go&dance platform and the festival website. Full Pass and Couple Pass options are available; booking in advance is recommended to take advantage of discounted rates.
As this is a week-long residential festival, it is advisable to book accommodation in Alì Terme and neighboring towns well in advance. Bring suitable dance shoes and beachwear for the daytime.
